Title: Must the HM-133 pcbs be used with the IC-880
Post by: bobfrost on 2015-08-21, 03:00:32
I do not need the functionality of the microphone buttons and need to know if the RR can be used without the HM-133.  If so, what are the strapping configurations for the Control and Remote units?

I have not tested but after looking at the 880 schematics it looks like a HM-103 would work with the strappings from the chapter ICOM CI-V or most other simple ICOM mics like HM-36 but then you need a converter from circular connector to RJ-45

If I understand, you think it might work with the strappings from the ICOM CI-V or other ICOM mics but I take it you are also indicating I would need to use the mic for which the strappings apply.  That is not use the original 880 microphone?

Hi

yes the HM-133 has no ordinary PTT signal it only send PTT over the serial protocol, so if you want to use HM-133 you must have the adapters
