Hardware, Cabling, Installations / KPA500 ver1.33 and RemoteRig, issue with KPA500 serial port handling
« on: 2014-01-11, 19:21:55 »
Hi all,
We have a TS480+remoterig and has always worked real well.
We recently added the Idiom press Rotor-Ez and voila, works well too.
I basically tunnel the Serial over IP and then bring it to a USB/Serial dongle
and run LPRotor and control the rotator.
Now the KPA500 has been a problem.
I can kill the power to all the station components using a remote power switch.
When i kill the power and turn it back on, the KPA500 serial port does not respond
at all via the remoterig. However, if i get someone to push the front panel ON
button on the KPA500, the serial port then springs to life.
I thought ver 1.33 of firmware for KPA500 will fix this, but so far not. Anyone
have a depolyment with a similar use case, have solved the issue? The KPA500
is under warranty, so i have notified elecraft.
Please let me know if there is a fix or i might have missed something.
