Tnx, Mike. Sorry for the late reply. Good news is this has been nicely -and easily- resolved, and I've been up and running for a week or so now :)

Configuration of Routers, Firewalls, etc / UDP status...

Mods: I think I'm posting in the correct place. Feel free to move if not :)

When looking at my status page for the RRC (control) box, I see an RTP status of 'excellent(60)', but the UDP CMD status is merely 'OK(45)'. Are there things I can do to improve it? ie: get it to the 'excellent' status as well?

RRC 1258MKIIs
2.85 (RHR says beyond 2.85 is incompatible)

This is a first -which isn't too surprising since it was also the first time powering on the K3/0 mini with the RRC box inline. I was met with a series of loud tri-tones upon powering up the K3/0 mini. I was attempting to connect to one of the stations on the RHR network at the time. Tried another station with the same result. Then I logged out of the (RHR) system and powered the radio on again. This time, I got a series of 6 even tones. Then I disconnected the RRCMINICBL from the back of the 'radio' and powered on again. This time, I was met with expected behaviour :)

So I'm guessing that the RRC box is misconfigured in one way or another. I've been rereading info in the Microbit setup app; the RRC user manual; the K3/0 mini manual, and the RHR help data just to cover all my bases. Nothing immediately jumps out at me as being a red flag or otherwise out of place. That said, I've no problem admitting that this new (to me) remoting tech is just a bit beyond me so I'm probably just not seeing something I ought to be.

Has anyone experienced this behaviour before?

K3/0 mini FW is current and the RRC box has 2.85 (the RHR guys warn not to go beyond this version as anything newer is incompatible).

Tnx, Mike.

I will do the following:
1. Search around the desk/floor/boxes/bags again.
2. Reach out to HRO (I have my doubts about this as they've said they no longer order from Microbit -their words. Not mine)
3. Contact you with shipping/mailing info.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / No straps?!?!
« on: 2016-01-28, 08:37:42 »
Hi all...

Ordered my RRC-1258MkIIs (to use as a control box) from HRO several months ago. When it arrived, I promptly set it on a shelf on the desk and left it be as it would be another several months until I had my K3/0. Well, I now have my K3/0 and have begun pouring through the manual(s). Tending to the strap/jumper issue seemed like a good thing to begin with. When I removed the cover, however, I found no straps whatsoever!!

Returning to the manual for more (and more) re-reading, it seemed possible that since I had ordered the prefabbed cable, the whole strapping thing could be skipped. But upon further reading, I noticed that under such a scenario, I'd have the tiny PCB setting atop the strap bus. Opened the cover again -nope. Not there. The jumpers are all there, just no strapping. I've also gone through all the plastic baggies and checked the floor numerous times. No joy.

Can anyone advise on where to go from here? Local hardware store??

Tnx, Mike! I was hoping -and sort of expecting- it was something like that. Tnx for the link, too. Guess I didn't look around too much before posting ;)

General discussion forum / RRC 1258MkII... or MkIIs??
« on: 2015-03-16, 07:58:41 »
Hi all...

I recently purchased a MkIIs from HRO and will soon obtain a K3/0. The cables have arrived directly from Elecraft as well. But to stay on point, I want to be able to take advantage of the sub RX so I was very careful to make certain to get the MkIIs. The staff at HRO insists this is a MkIIs and the sticker on the bottom of the unit says MkIIs as well. But the stenciling on the front of the unit says only MkII -no 'S'.

I just want to be sure I've indeed received the right box. Is there a way to know for certain now rather than discovering a month later that this is really only a MkII?
