HI,

I still need help to understand Keyer and PTT behavior.

What I have:
-Keyer is working
-PTT is working with externall foot switch
-USB Winkey CW keying works with UA9OV CwType, DX4WIN and WinTest but Winkey never manipulate PTT.
Tried different computers with different OS, even Winkey via genuine COM port (to COM1 on RemoteRig). The
same.

Does RemoteRig has two sepparate PTTs -one from "footswitch PTT"
and other - from Winkey Or CW PTT doesn't exist at all?
I see OUT1 and OUT2 on radio side has "mode 5" - Keyer PTT - shuold I parrallel it with "footswitch PTT"
at radio site?

I tried to play with "USB RTS as PTT" on all ports "blindly", no success.

I am connecting my old slow PA to the system, so I don't like to use VOX, QSK or "PTT activated by keyer"
(which works FB), since I go from 8 to 35 WPM and delays are very different.

My setup:
I use COM2/0 for K3 twins, COM1 in mode 3 - as generic COM port and COM_FSK - for Winkey.
Works FB, made some QSOs, PA not connected yet, audio settings in "radio settings" menu - changed from "mode 2" to "mode - 5" - SSB was somehow not very readable for me in mode 2 (16 bit 8 kHz)
even with narow filter, FB now with 16 bit 12 kHz.
I had humm on SSB at start, but solved that replacing power supply for controll RRC - voltage was lover than
12V.

Thanks

HI,

It depends on codex you will use. If it is ~120 kbits/sec, then it is 15 kbaits/sec or ~7 Megabaits per
hour or 10 GB for two months.

I hope my calculations are not very wrong ;)

Hi,

I just received my remotrig and playing with in on table. My LP-remote board works both via COM1 or COM2, just curios
why  COM1 has different gender connector - is it for "reversed" (or "null modem") cable? Not sure what I have after all
adapters.

USB port - I see it can be used for CW and PTT. Where it goes at radio end - to I/O connector??
It would be great to have feature of real USB/COM converter - USB to computer at control end which is
crossconected to one of COM ports at radio end. Then I don't need any extra cable to my K3 - just serial cable.
Elecraft K3 doesn't need any CW or PTT interface - direct cable forks FB.
Other nice feature - combine CW both from internal keyer and computer to the same DTR line. Then CW cable at radio
end is never needed. The same for PTT, just PTT input on control box is not defined.

Or it is already possible?
