Hello from W4HI,

I want to upgrade my exsiting IC-7100 to the newly manufactured IC-7100.

Current remote rig pairs:
Control / Remote 1258 V7 HW 8 Software 2.95 Boot 113 Compiler 4.6.2.

Will I have any issues using the NEW 7100 currently in production with existing remote rig pair?

Configuration, RRC 1258 / Unable to connect to RR control to built-in Wi-fi

Hello Everyone,

This problem has recently started being unable unit to connect to remote RR radio via RR built in Wi-Fi module. It's been working fine for several years.

I've checked both Wi-Fi user and passwords I've been using and they are correct.

Once selecting the various RR Radio unit I want to connect with I get the following error:

Have changed Ethernet cable from RR Control to my IC-7100 control head same results.

Hello Anyone,

Recently I've had several bewildering issues with my RR Control unit.

I've been owner RC1258's since 2009 and never had these issues. Current RR 1258 purchased in 2016 so I'm stumped.

First issue: Can't read Control unit with MB 2.0 v1.31 with two different USB cables. Just upgraded MB 2.0 to v2.06 same result.

The other strange issues are related to my profiles. I have access to two other RR radio's which have been working flawless for several years now.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm helping him diagnosis the problem remotely through Team viewer, K3HP is a IT specialist.

We've tried to connect locally but that didn't work either. But will check you recommendation later today, he's at work today.

General discussion forum / cannot connect control box to radio box all of a sudden

My partner K4HP has a remoterig system identical to mine. His system has been work flawless for years without issue.  All of a sudden we are unable to connect over the internet or able to connect via his LAN.  He has checked the internet, cable, router, and connect other equipment using the radio box IP with success so this should rule out the internet and hardware.  He has checked the IP address and it is correct for trying to access the radio remote rig box.  What is strange is that he sees the setup of the radio and control box both via a web browser by accessing the correct IP address's respectively on the local network. Has his radio box gone south?

Hello Mike SM20 and VK3ALB,

Mike it was the codec gain setting had "changed" from 255 on remote box to 0, changed it back to 255 works great.

My two friends and I have three RRC 1268 MKII systems using IC-7100’s setup for several years now. User 2 remote station recently stopped transmitting audio, but you still have fully control of remote 7100 of HF VHF & UHF just carrier comes up but no audio?

I’ve checked all parameters in both User 2’s control and remote boxes including IC 7100’s they are all seem to be right, only User 2 remote system does not have audio on TX.

W4HI (me) user 1 can connect to User 3 and TX/RX with audio, as well as User 3 connect to my station and TX/RX with audio.

Any words of wisdom would be appreciated Bruce W4HI.

General / RCC Nano license requirements for control of other persons RRC Radios?

Hello,

My trial license has expired (f741).

Two other Amateurs friends have recently purchased IC7100's and RRC remotes. I want to be able to use the RCC Nano Android app on their radios also.

But before I buy the license I need to know if I need anything else?

Couple of things, I was using the WAN Static IP address on Control box for Radio box connection, changed it to the LAN Static IP on Radio Box seemed to improve. I know once I go Remote with control box will have to change it back.

Also found using the WAN DNS 75.75.75.75 instead of the Comcast router DNS of 10.0.0.1 it works more reliable??

Even when I can reach the Radio box with the Webserver, still cant ping the Radio Box that is odd?

Leaving on a trip for two weeks, set a timer to reboot Radio three times a day for now.

Hello,
Just purchased RRC-1258 MkII system for IC 7100.

Followed manual and programmed both Radio box and Control box with IC 7100 Control module inside. Version 2.91 in both units. Using Wired Ethernet while on LAN for testing, and diagnosing issues or using RR Wi-Fi for control and wired Ethernet for WAN operation system functions. Also have RR 1332 CI-V installed on Radio box. System is using manual suggested setting for IC-7100 operation.

Using Ethernet switch in shack to Comcast router/modem a distance away, which is providing Static WAN IP and DHCP for Control box.
My issue is system works well for a randomly time both on LAN (Radio & Control) or WAN operation. Suddenly IC-7100 display freezes and then shuts off. If I go to a PC on the LAN I can’t reach the Radio Box static IP LAN address (10.0.0.226).  If I Ping it comes back unreachable. IF I press on/off switch on IC-7100 Display it doesn’t turn back on.

To resolve issue, have to reboot Radio box and control box, then it is allowing turning on IC-7100 display and can go to PC on LAN see Webserver page for Radio box.
