I had the remote setup working fine a few weeks ago. Then I powered up one day and found all the IP settings had been reset to 255.255.255.255  Re-entering all the correct IP addresses got the WiFi talking to the Control unit OK, but on going through the Info file, it was clear that other settings had also changed.  As I was heading out on on a 3-week trip that day, I powered down and left that for another day.
Well today was that day.  On power up I could not connect to the Control unit via the browser.  Using Setup Manager I found that again all the IP settings are at 255.255.255.255 PLUS a bogus serial number consisting of 10 numerical digits has been substituted for the correct one.  I believe this is the same bogus number that appeared on initial installation a couple of months ago.
So three questions:
What is causing this firmware/software reset?
How can I fix it now?
How can I ensure this does not happen again?
Thanks
David

Hi
It's difficult to say what caused it, it can be a lightning storm or something, it has only happened a few times before,  for different users. 255.255.255.255 etc means that it's FFh in the whole menory = a cleared flash memory. We can help you do enter the serial number which also sets the MAC-address if  you open the box and check the serial number label, and send it to me in an email.

Hi Mike,
Deja vu - this is the same fault as you helped me fix on September 4.  As before there are missing fields so the unit may think it is a Radio unit instead of Control.
The unit was unplugged during my 3-week absence so lightning is an unlikely cause.
The unit is serial number 7981 as before.  Will send an email separately to get the fix string.
