Help needed with AS-1289 Antenna Switch
« on: 2014-07-21, 23:52:12 »
I haven't been able to get mine automatically follow the TS-480 frequency using the IP.   In  the Radio RRC under advanced settings I have the UDP antenna-switch port set to 13010.  In the antenna switch under radio-RRC settings I  have:

   Mode Enabled
IP Address  10.0.0.228 (the IP of the Radio RRC)
   UDP Port  13010

Is there something else I must set?

Do I need to do something with port forwarding in the router?

Finally, the manual says to make sure the jumper JMPx is in the EXT position.  I can't find that item.  Is there really such a thing?  My SN is 2493.

You must have a CAT cable from Radio-RRC com2 to the Radio CAT port, com2 must be setup in mode 4 with the same baudrate as the radio is set to. The Antenna switch communicate with the radio through the RRC. No router settings are needed as they are on the same LAN. There is no jumpers in the AS-1289.

Still not working.  I'm using a TS-480 so maybe I have to do something different.  This is just part of a bigger problem:  I need to take the frequency information from the TS-480 and use it in the SteppIR controller, the antenna switch and send it back to the control RRC for the logging software.  I could use some detailed instructions on how to make all this happen.  Thanks

Hi

Thats no problem I used TS-480 and Steppir a lot myself. You do not say what is not working ?. Have you made the cable from Radio-RRC com2 to the radio CAT port, thats step one. When you are able to control the radio from a PC with HRD the antenna switch will work also. When this works you make a cable from the SDA-100 to the Radio RRC com1 and you setup com1 to mode 7. If you want to be sure that the SDA-100 settings and cables are OK first connect the cable direct from the SDA-100 to the TS-480. I recomend to use the our RC-1216H for the Steppir control, but it's up to you.

OK, the cables in and out of the serial ports on the Radio RRC took care of it.  I'm now able to use the frequency information out of the TS-480 to control the SteppIR, the AS-1289 antenna switch and have it come back for the logging program.  Thanks for the advice.
