ROTOR-Control
« on: 2017-08-23, 16:13:34 »
Hi all,

As shown in the attachment I try to setup a Control Box connected to a Radio Box and then to corntrol the connected TRX and Rotor.
If I do the setup using the Remoterig Client with a dongle it works.
(The setup is not excatly as proposed! If I do so it does not work!)
In the case of using both boxes I have Audio perfect and control of the TRX by HRD perfect.
In no case I can control the Rotor.
Strange is that HRD must be connected to COM13 not as expected COM11.
(See attachment)
Any idea where I produce the "mixup"?

I'm sure you've done a lot of work on this problem.

It is unclear from your PDF exactly how the PC sees the comport mappings. I don't think in every case that the RRC ports go in sequence against the PC port numbering. This is what mine looks like.

RRC1258 COM0 (COM16)
RRC1258 COM1 (COM13)
RRC1258 COM2 (COM6)
RRC1258 COMExtra (COM14)

Is it sure that you have your Com Port mappings correct?

On the last page of your PDF you show "Use USB as Com Port" is set to off in RRC-Control. Is this intended? I don't understand how anything could work from your PC if these are off.

Hi Lou, thanks for feedback.
Now I found the reason for my problem!
Microbit says there is always a transparent serial connection available between a CTRL and Radio Box.
My understanding was that this "line" is mapped to one of the virtual COM's when you connect the CTRL box via USB to the PC.
That is wrong.
The line is always available from COM1 port of CTRL box to COM1 port of the Radio box.
Now I use that port and I can control the rotator!
See the updated drawing.
