Remote DYNdns router
« on: 2014-11-23, 09:36:58 »
I have just got my 7100 working here at home but will be putting the radio end up at my farm some 300 km away. This connection is on 3G. The 3G is connected to a Draytec Vigor 2820 router and that router is configured with a dyndns so I can log in and look at a couple of cameras and a weather station. I have all this sorted with a port number as most of the devices are easy to setup for it. But this remoterig may be a bit curly. I am looking for advice on how to do it.

Do I just give it a fixed IP off my router up at the farm and then somehow direct the control end here to the dyndns but what about how to config the port. I can log into my router from home at anytime

Hi Mark,

Drop me a mail at dj0qn (at) darc.de and I will send you my networking and 3G/4G checklists.
This may give you a tip or two on setting this up.

It looks like you solved the main problem, which is the normal "double NAT" problem using 4G
at your remote station. It looks like you have a "real" external IP number in your case.
