Local use of remote rig
« on: 2015-08-20, 19:09:10 »
I have a Kenwood radio I would like to use locally with the Remote Rig boxes. The head will be at our EOC console on the other side of the building where the radio room is located. Can I use just a rolled pair of Cat 5e or do I need some type of a switch or router between the 2 Remote Rig boxes? I will not be using the internet. The boxes are 1258 MK2.
Thanks,
Fred

A direct connection using CAT5 works just fine, no switch or router is required. You don't even need to change
the IP settings.
