USB driver
« on: 2016-01-15, 11:04:56 »
Hello,

I am not able to get the USB connection to my 1216H working.
It seems that there is a USB driver problem.
The Setup Manager does not see the switch.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 fully updated.

Regards,

Which version of the Setup Manager? Does the 1216H show up as a HID(Human Interface Device) in XP's Device Manager when connecting it?
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

Version is 1.28.

It shows up in the Human Interface Devices section.
But also in the Ports section with status stating driver not installed.

When I try to do an automatic driver update, I get this error:
"A service installation section in this INF in invalid"

Please refer to attached screen shots.

I tried it on a Windows 10 machine with no problems.

You could try version 1.30:

Only the HID device is necessary for Setup Manager to communicate with 1216H. But if the Com port the 1216H also contains lacks a driver then it seems the driver installation, which is part of the Setup Manager installation, has failed.

BTW, Windows XP is not actively supported by us anymore due to its age, but it should work as far as we know.

I tried Version 1.30 and it worked just fine. :-)
I also noticed that some other errors were corrected.
Thanks.

Keep up the good work.

It's always a good idea to try with the latest version in case of problems. If one is lucky then it might work without adding new problems  ;)
