Problems between UMTS and DSL
« on: 2011-01-21, 22:59:45 »
Hi,

i tested a TS 480 in my LAN. I tested only power on and it works.

Then i use my notebook in lan-bridge-mode, connecting RRC control via cross over cable and
using a UMTS stick in USB port.

On radio side i connected RRC radio to Fritz Box 7050 DSL Router . Using port forwarding.
Can`t find something about DMZ = enable, testing with "exposed hosts" 192.168.0.228.

By the way: all cables connected, but not the MIC cables on both sides of the RRC

After testing POWER ON at TS 480 the result is: yellow LED AUX/MIC is flashing
an i hear an error code (dit dät döh),  :D
I looked for SIP contact under Radio settings of control RRC: there stands from the
last test in LAN the IP of radio RRC 192.168.0228. I changed in dyndns host name
like myadress.dyndns.org - but also the same error, no connection

under status i find: dns status = error, failed to resolve remoterig

Only one positive test:
from UMTS side via Internet i connected the RRC radio box with http://myadress.dyndns.org:58

Any idea where is the mistake?
1.) UMTS stick connection via lan bridge configuration of the notebook
or (any other idea how to use a notebook with UMTS stick on control side?)
2.) settings of the RRC`s?
     or
3.) setting of the Fritz Box Router?

Kai

After this (restarting)

Kai,

Did you change your SIP port number on both ends? Port 5060 is usually blocked on UMTS.

I have tested both O2 and Telekom (T-Mobile), and both do not work with RemoteRig.
They seem to block the audio, even after changing the port number.

P.S.: We can speak by phone if you have any questions

If you get "dns status = error" in the panel end, then the "Dns server" setting might be wrong. And if that is the case then "myadress.dyndns.org" won't work either and you will not get a connection. Also make sure you don't have a "XXX.dyndns.org" hostname which starts with a digit, for ex. "1235.dyndns.org"
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

Hi Jan,

thanks for answer. My hostname begins not with digits, it begins with amXXXXXX.dyndns.org.

Also with amXXXX.dyndns.org:58 i can connect via Internet the radio RRC box.

So, maybe there is an further problem with hostname and dyndns.

Any idea what can i checked next?

But do you still have "dns status = error, failed to resolve remoterig.com"? That suggests:

1/ The Dns Server setting is wrong/missing or the Dns Server can't be reached.

2/ You don't have a Sip Contact in host name format, i.e not starting with a digit or empty. I can tell that because "failed to resolve remoterig.com" only shows when there is no Sip Contact in host name format(for ex. "myadress.dyndns.org"). Otherwise, the error message would have been "dns status = error, failed to resolve myadress.dyndns.org".

I don't understand what you mean by being able to connect using port 58? Which port is 58?

Port 58

i chnged web server port from default 80 to 58

it was only a test, i think i can put it back on 80

and with http//:amXXXX.dyndns.org:58 (or 80 default) i can reached
the rrc radio box to configure them

Now,

i connected the RRC control to my PC with Router and by my neighbour
i configured the RRC radio and his Router. Access - it works :D

I am interesting how to work with a Notebook via UMTS-Stick, but therefore i need more
support i.e. some pictures of setting the LAN bridge and so on....

For today, it`s ok for me. So i will make the audio-tests an i think i have to come back
to the forum ;) for need a little help.

Thanks to all

Kai

I suggest does your UMTS service have a full public IP or behind a NAT, some Accounts are only NAT IP and not public IP.
do a tracert to a know host, check what address is the USB router Private NAT or public IP.
