Virtual COM1/2 Ports and rts cts
« on: 2013-03-10, 11:32:05 »
I have a problem with RRC micro and RCV7 Vers. 2
If I use an IP tor RS232 converter like Moxa xxx, the communication between the Software and TMV 7e works fine.
I installed the latest Firmware on RRC, RRC Micto and Setup manager.
I got 4 Virtual com Ports.
It makes not difference i connect to Com1 or Com2 on RRC.
The Software is missing CTS signal.
On the RRC Control, there is a Jumper allow to connect RTS and CTS.
In Virtual com there is no possibility to make this.
Set in Com “flow control” brings not the solution.
Is there any possibility to set a flag “RTS=CTS” ?

Hello Helmut,

The specification of virtual COM ports in USB(CDC:s) is unfortunately missing a way of sending the CTS signal from the device to the COM port and the PC program which uses the COM port. To get the CTS status one would have to use/develop a custom USB driver, and that is very time consuming and rather difficult. Isn't it possible to change the software you use so it does not need CTS?
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

A simpler solution is to use a external USB-to serial coverter for < EUR 10 then the internal jumper for CTS-RTS can be used
