Hi Mike, I don't really care about the warranty but would like to know why Icom made the change.  So I would hesitate to remove the resister if that action would reduce the longevity of the radio.  Will wait for the PCB board and I thank you for doing that for us.  73, Ray

Hi Mike,  Could I place an early order for the pcb 1258M?  So it could be shipped as soon as available.   73, Ray

I made a level converter and solved my problem.  I used a 3.3V three terminal regulator, bypass capacitors for it, and a 74AUP1G07 fed with about 1 volt from a 1K and 2.2K ohm resistor voltage divider.  The open drain output is pulled up to 3.3V through a 1k resistor.  I tapped power from the 8 volts to front panel.

Received the 1258m board and installed it.  I now have remote operation thru my LAN.  Problem solved so far.  Thanks, Mike.  73, Ray
