Increase Audio Quality choice
« on: 2016-11-30, 18:39:25 »
Is there a possibility to be able to choose Quality 7 linear? or quality 4, or even 2??

Using the existing low audio quality Codec default on the Micro makes weak signal CW difficult. This especially a big problem with high noise.

thanks,  de steve ve6wz

Steve,

You are completely free to use any CODEC that you choose to use. Just keep in mind the synchronous bandwidth
that is required. You can use the details in Appendix A of the manual for details.

Mitch,

Are you sure you can change the quality on the RCC-Micro dongle??
On the RCC micro settings page I see no option to change Audio quality. Only Jitter size, Jitter Delay and Buffer size.
I thought I had read that the default is set for Quality 0, Alaw 8kHz on the Micro dongle.

Steve,

I answered the question without noticing which device you were referring to, sorry. I had assumed
it was for the RRC.

Mike should answer this question. I am not sure if what you say is correct, or if it takes what is set in
the radio RRC. I also remember reading something like that, but am not sure if it was for the Micro or
Nano, or both.
