Hi Jan and the entire Microbit team:

Just want to thank you again for your patients.
Apparently, all I had to do was drop the http:// from my DynDns host name and it fixed it.
The DNS status also changed to an actual link on the radio RRC.

Great that you figured out what the problem was!

http:// in front of a host name is used to form an URL indicating that for ex. a web site is to be accessed by the HTTP protocol. A domain name is without a protocol specifier
