Microbit setup manager cannot see RRC control unit

I have connected USB cable from RRC control unit to computer USB port. Microbit shows Unknown disconnected!. I have tried several USB ports and a different cable. I then tried a different computer and still no connection. Is it possible I inadvertently changed a setting which is causing this? In every other way the system is working.

Did you first install the Microbit Setup Manager before plugging the USB cable in?

Which firmware version of the RRC do you have? Are you using version 1.25 of the Setup Manager?

I reinstalled Microbit and now have v. 1.25. Nothing has changed. When I connect to radio RRC, everything fine and four virtual ports created. When I connect to control RRC no connection and, of course, no virtual ports created.

But what about the RRC's firmware version? (In both control and radio RRC)

Firmware in Radio unit is 007 2.72.
Since I cannot connect microbit to RRC Control unit, I cannot read or update the firmware. I am almost positive, it is the same as the radio unit.

But you are saying that " In every other way the system is working". Does that not include that you are/were able to browse to the control RRC and see its home page?

Yes. I can browse the control RRC and control the radio through the radio RRC

Then you can see the firmware version as well as updating the firmware using the RRC's homepage. Is it possible to see if the USB connector is ok?

I have upgraded firmware in both units to 2.75. Still no connection through USB. Not sure about USB connector
 but cable does feel loose in connector.

As I guess you have bought it from HRO I suggest you contact them to get the unit replaced.
