Turning "ON" remote K3
« on: 2010-08-25, 07:18:38 »
Hello, a question to K3 users. How do you solve the issue with the turning ON the K3 at remote end? As far as I know the ACC connector has an assigned pin which should be momentary shorted to ground in order to switch radio ON. Can I use the I/O settings for that? Thanks, 73 de Sergei UA3AP

Hi Sergei,
you sure can use the I/O switching, just put a timer at the remote end that switches off after 50mS
when you dont use the build in keyer its easy setup.
When you need the keyer then there are everytime a few things you have to do
disable keyer at control end,
put OUT0 mode at RADIO end to I/O and close input 0 (control side) to gnd when you need to start K3
afterwards you enabl keyer again

I am interested in turning the K3 on and off remotely as well.    Can you provide a wiring diagram as to how to make this work.   I will be using HRD to control the radio
