Working RRemoteRig System Takes Lightning Hit...
« on: 2015-07-11, 01:07:03 »
Well, I had a great 3+ year run with a flawless RemoteRig system. However, this past week lightning struck the power lines and blew out my RemoteRig RRC Radio box. I bought a new one (just the Radio RRC), set the red jumpers inside the RRC for the type of rig and configured the RRC Radio box with the same settings that I used to have on the damaged RRC Radio box. I even set the RemoreRig DNS service. Mitch set me up via TeamViewer last time.

I read the instruction manual, but I may have forgotten something. Is there something I'm missing? How do I get the system working?

dave :)

Hi Dave,

Just open up the radio RRC's menu and copy in the following data into the control RRC:

radio settings:
program mode
sip password
audio quality

serial settings:
COM2 correct mode (4 when it was a TS-480)

advanced settings:
the three port settings at the top
and make sure the jitter and other settings are the same

Then it should work just fine. You should also update the radio RRC's firmware to the newest one to
make sure there are no compatibility issues.

Otherwise, just mail me at dj0qn (at) darc.de and I can take a look at it. It would probably take me two minutes
to get it running.
