When my PC is connected to my local 1258 via USB, an error log was created by DX Lab. I sent it to the author of DX Lab for his review. He replied me that "the errorlog you sent me contains no errors. What it shows is that Commander is properly sending commands to your K3, but receiving nothing in response". For you information, I only have the Virtual Comports created by Microbit Setup Manager on my PC.

Then I unchecked "Use USB Com Port as COM1" of Serial Setting tab of my local 1258,which is now connected to my local PC via USB-Serial cable(with FTDI chipset). The problem is gone and now DX Lab shows the frequency of my K3 properly.

The fact that DX Lab works properly with a real comport but not with a virtual comport leads me to think that drivers offered by Microsoft have no problem.

What do you mean with "have no problem"?
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

Jan,

It might be misunderstanding. The bottom line is that I really want virtual comport to work properly. I can not operate RTTY from my local site remotely without it. I have been and will count on Microbit guys to solve this problem.

You could also try to uninstall the USB Serial Ports in Device Manager, then unplug and finally plug in the RRC again. That might get them working.

hello,

so I de-install all the USB drivers and install the RRC-1258MKII with out any new driver manual installation. I saw the COM port in the device manager of Windows 10 but the COM ports (only the CAT) for FSK and CW keying are not selectable in the Ham radio Deluxe dialog.

I heard from other users that they got exactly the same problem so it seems to be a issue with HRD and Win10 ...

Regards
Peter

If all four RRC Com ports are visible in device manager then everything should be ok concerning Windows and the RRC.
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

I too am having this issue. Using USB comm ports, K3 Remote, Win10, and DXLab's Commander. Worked fine prior to the Win10 upgrade. The frequency is not being reported back properly. I uninstalled and reinstalled and still the same thing. All other functions to control the radio appear to be working just fine; mode changes, Split, Swap, even typing a frequency directly into the control box and pressing enter changes the frequency just fine. Did I miss the eventual resolution to this issue or is it still open>

I wrote a request in the HRD forum but no reply from the developement team so the problem is still the same ...

May be it helps if you can also add a message in the section "HRD 6.2 Rig Control"  threat "RRC-1258 Interface: virt. USB ports under Win10 and HRD6.3 not available" ...

Hi Peter. I don't think this is an issue with HRD. I am using DXLab Commander to manage my radio from the control side. All CAT functions with the exception of the frequency display work properly.

When not operating remote I  use DXLab Commander, also installed on a Win10 PC, with a microham interface and everything works fine.

Let me know if more information is needed.
