Are you saying that you have a paid for a true, routable external IP number? If so, did you go into your
MF923 and set the port forwards correctly?

Also first verify that you have a true external IP number by going to whatismyip.com and checking that against
what the router says you have as a WAN IP number....they must match.

Please tell me where in the "router" (AKA wireless access point) where I can find the IP address. It's not in there. You have the manual.

And the RRC1258 in in the DMZ. No port forwarding needed. I tied to add port forwarding and did not help. But it's in the DMZ anyway.

The manual can be downloaded at:
http://www.att.com/support_static_files/manuals/ATT_Velocity_MF923.pdf

I don't know how much configuration that you have done so far on the two RRC's before
you moved them to the current routers. Since you mentioned before about not being able to
get into the radio RRC due to a password, I assume that you have reset to factory defaults in
the meantime and then reconfigured to work within a LAN before moving it to this configuration.
If not, then it can never work unless you went through those important first steps. It all may be
ok because I missed something, but I am somewhat lost as to your current situation.Maybe you
can give a short status as to what you have done, for example:
- reset the RRC's to factory default
- Placed both RRC's in the same LAN
- Used Microbit Setup Manager to set the new IP's or to DHCP
- Configured each RRC as needed
- Put port forwards (or DMZ) for the radio RRC's (new?) router
- Moved the control RRC offsite for a test and changed the SIP contact beforehand
etc.

Since all these steps and more are explained in my checklist and you apparently already have it,
then it would be important to understand if you skipped anything that would cause your problem.

Everything works fine with the radio and control on the same network so no need to start from square 1.

Then did you do "square 2" and test it from a radio location using a standard broadband connection? Jumping to
a mobile broadband connection first is asking for trouble. This is why I mentioned it in my networking checklist.

The most common reasons something doesn't work when moving offsite:
- Not entering the port forwards correctly at the radio location
- Not using the correct external IP address or DynamicDNS address in the control RRC's SIP contact field
- Forgetting to move the control RRC to the new subnet or changing it to DHCP

Working fine now.

FINALLY got through to AT&T wireless to get a static ip!

Everything is working just fine now. Have some audio drop outs but need to fine tune now to see if I can get rid of those.

Thanks again for all the help

Glad to hear it, so it was indeed that the external IP number was not working.

Have fun!

Correct.

Now thinking about changing from an IC706 MKIIG to a Kenwood TS480SAT.  Ham Radio Outlet has them on black Friday sale!

Thanks
