Remote Rig via 3G 4G NAT addresses?
« on: 2018-06-11, 06:05:17 »
Not quite clear if the remoterig will work with mobile phone providers internet being a NAT'd address.   Obviously not possible to port forward via the mobile net.   Is there a remote polling server that allows this kind of connection?   Looking to setup a remote HF station soon...

It will not work if the radio-RRC is connected to a ISP which use CGN. The IP address the router at the Radio QTH get from the ISP must be public. Here is instructions about how to check if the ISP uses CGN,

CGN shows up in all techniques fiber, ADSL, mobile etc. but so far I have never heard that you can't get a public IP if you ask for it or sometimes pay extra for it.
