No Tx Audio
« on: 2023-11-11, 18:47:21 »
Hello,

I made a remote installation for my FT857D with version 7 board.

All is ok (remote head, receiving audio, ptt), but no ... tx audio.

Does anyone have an idea of what could be wrong?

 HI

What kind of mic do you use ? It must be standard  simple MH-31. The MH59 need 5V power which Remoterig do not supply.

If you already have the MH-31 check the red wires and the codec gain settings

Hello Mike,

Thanks for your fast answer.

I'm using an over Mic (AV908) witch i have tested before leaving the remote site (on the ft857).

Codec and strips seems ok (on the 2 site). I will ask a friend to change some of them on the remote site.

Sip password

If a mic works connected direct to the FT-857 doesnt mean that it works with the Remoterig as with the MH-59 as the Remoterig doesn't have any 5V out

AV908 take a 8V (but i think it's for the up down button)

On witch pin goes the 8v from RRC please? -- I found the pin, but still no audio - I will ask a friend to verify if there is no problem with the red wire

Hi
8V is available at the second pin from right at the strapping socket when the connection is up. Check with an volt meter. So you can put a wire from there to the correct RJ45  pin. I looked for a schematic to the mic but did not find any, just a instruction where  the Yaesu connector shown is wrong. So if you use a cable with that pinning it will not work. You will make a new cable or change the positions of the red wires in the Control-RRC

UP and DWN button will not work

Yes it's ok, i found the 8v last night (looking for over radio wiring).

Connection between this mic and the RCC are ok (i found a manual and the wiring diagram, i just had a red pin to modify).

I think the problem is on the remote site ... so i will have to wait some weeks (i'm in Guinea now).

I wanted to suggest to someone on the forum to take control of the station with a module RRC PC to check that the problem came from here , but i think it's impossible with ft857 TTL remote. So I will wait until end of December ;)
