Bad CW after a year with N1MM+ and Remoterig
« on: 2024-12-28, 10:50:46 »
Hi, I have had an extremly good remote station for over a year when I started to get "stutters" hanging CW operating N1MM via USB-port.
My station is a Kenwood TS480SAT.
I have tried with two different computers abd even changed the USB-cable.
I switch TS480 off and just use sidetones from Remoterig and listen to my transmissions.
Actually I thought for a while that the new USB-cable fixed it as it took about 5 minutes before the problem started.
I have a ping time between 9-13ms with good fiber connection at both ends.
After reading other posts I have changed some setting in Control RRC.
At the moment I have:
Advanced settings
RX Jitter deley 10 (from 3)
Buffer size 12 (from 4)
RTP tx mode Continous
Keyer settings:
Keying delay 50 (from 40)
LF delay 50 (from 40)
I have had this problem now for a couple of months and often I have to run contests with keyer at PAD-jack and logging manually.
Sometimes I can use N1MM for 20-30 minutes and then the stutters and hanging starts
T really need some help!

I have just been QRV in RAC-contest.
Everything worked fine for about 20 minutes and then almost every transmisson had corrupt CW and also transmission were hanging for parts of a second:
Impossible to continue with keying from N1MM

I think I have solved the problem now. 900 CW qsos worked in January with no problem.
In Control RRC Serial settings I had Com3 (Extra)  mode (USB -COMFSK) set to mode 10 Baudot-RTTY and operated N1MM via another virtual port.
Chang to mode 10 Winkeyer and CW sounds perfect.
I guess I have to switch back and fort to operated RTTY .
