Hand Mic Audio problems
« on: 2011-05-30, 23:44:44 »
Hi all:

A couple of weeks ago when I was putting my remote back on the air, I tried my standard Yaesu hand mic which came with the 450.
I forget the model # but when I plugged it in to the Control RRC, I went down stairs to the shack and enabled the monitor on my 450 to listen through head phones.
When I got my helper to key the mic and speak, all I heard was a kind of woshing sound but no voice.
My main mic is the MD-100A8X with all switches left in the default and I get excellent audio reports.
I have the audio codecs set the same on both ends. Could it be the mic it self?
When plugged directly into the rig, it works fine.  Both mics have the RJ-45 connectors.
I'm a little concerned as I might have to trade some items to try and get a broader range automatic tuner to tune my new G5RV when I install it, should the internal tuner in the FT-450 doesn't work.
