Title: CW memory without computer
Post by: KV6T on 2012-03-02, 08:20:12
What is the easiest way to obtain CW memory capability without using a computer?

I was thinking of homebrewing a small arduino box with an LCD screen that can store and replay messages via the paddle input on the remote rig.

What do you guys think?  Maybe this can be a future firmware update for RR?

Thanks

Mark

Mark,

You can hook-up any external memory keyer as-is and use its memories.

See the manual pages 76-77.

Mitch,

I was thinking that going through the paddle input jack on the RRC-remote would ensure that the WPM of memory keyed messages would match exactly what was set by op via control knob on the RRC-remote.   But maybe I am over-thinking this :)

I never used an external keyer or any form of computer control in the past, only straight key or keyer built into the rig so sorry for the dumb questions :)

Thanks again,

Mark
