Hi,
I would like to use webswitch 1216H to power on/off my Kenwood TS870.
My concern is related to the current drain, in the transceiver documentation it states that the current drain is 20.5A for TX and 2 A for RX.
I see that the webswitch 1216H is rated for 16A, I don't know if it has also a fuse for 16A.
It seems there are many use of this webswitch to power on/off other transceivers and I think all have current drain grater than 16A on TX.
Thanks for any explanation/advice !

Hi
You should not switch the 13.8 V with the webswitch, you should switch the 230V before the Power Supply.

yes, the switch will be between power outlet and the power supply, see picture below how I would like to configure them:

So I would like to put one of the webswitch relay on the power extension cord. Is this correct ?
If the transceiver will drain 20 A from the power source, will this current drain be transferred to the power outlet also ?
Thanks

No even if the efficency of the power supply is as low as 50% it will only be 2.5 A at 230 V if the radio consumes 20A at 13,8 V

Nothing against the Webswitch, but wouldn't it be a lot easier and cheaper to buy
an IP power strip? There are many on the market, even below 100 Euros.

I didn't find one, do you have any example. Thanks

There are so many on the market, that it is difficult to recommend any specific one. I am puzzled why
you can't find one.
I have two types in use at my remote stations:
NetIO230A or B: http://www.koukaam.se/kkm/products.php?cat_id=19
Energenie EG-PM2-LAN: http://energenie.com/item.aspx?id=7557
Both are well under 100 Euros in DL, including VAT.
