Title: RRC > antenna switch 1269 and web switch via IP
Post by: LA7THA on 2015-06-10, 10:41:31
HI Remoterig

Anyone that can answer my question below.

73 Rune

My RRC1258 and antenna switch via IP is working excellent. I wonder if there is any plan to let the web switch talk to the system via IP. I am running Acom 2000 on web switch and could be nice if the web switch “Talk” the same language. This would get the Acom 2000 amp to follow the radio and antenna via IP.

I have thought about it before, but today the RRC works as gateway letting the antenna switch ask the radio for the frequency but I don't think we should add more things working that way, i may disturb the radio with more RS-232 traffic. The idea is to make a local server in the RRC which answer the other boxes with latest known frequency without asking the radio all the time. It may come, but I can't say when

That might also solve my problem with the antenna switch more or less blocking the RS-232 communication between the Yaesu FT-847 and HRD when automatic antenna selection is activated. However, the solution might not arrive free of charge, I presume.

Hi Mike

"The idea is to make a local server in the RRC which answer the other boxes with latest known frequency without asking the radio all the time. It may come, but I can't say when"

That is clever, I can hope and pray then :-)

Thanks
