Just look at the website.

Hi Mike, thanks for this page it will probably help for the cable connections.

But I still don't understand if it is possible or not to control the RRC-1258 using the Virutalport COM1 with the USB cable.

Is it possible or definitely not ?

Sorry to bother once again, but I spent hours on it, and still not able to understand how I can achieve this.

RemoteRig :
You will notice I've used the same configuration on both the controller AND the remote to use the Mode 6, with option "Use USB Com Port as COM1".
The Remote is connected with a RS232 cable, from the front panel (COM1) to the SPE-Expert.

Computer :
Directly connected using the USB to the Controller. No other USB connections.

Windows :

As you will notice on my screenshot, I have with RemoteRig connected, 4 possible ports.
For example let's say, I try to use RRC1258 COM2 (COM2) (I changed it manually to match to COM2)

I don't really know which one is managed using the USB cable : all of them ?
I've tried to configure the SPE-Expert software with COM2, but it really don't work (of course it works with a regular USB-RS232 connected directly between computer and SPE-Expert).

Did I made something wrong ?

Please any help would be appreciate...

Thanks thanks by advance

Cédric

Ok you are using Yaesu Twin, As you can see in the manual the combination FT-450--FT-2000 is not supported as we have not been able to test that combination.

73 de mike

The following combination are tested (from the manual)
Control Radio
FT-450 FT-450
FT-950 FT-950
FT-950 FT-5000
FT-2000 FT-2000
FT-2000 FT-5000
FT-5000 FT-5000
FT-5000 FT-9000
FT-9000 FT-5000
FT-9000 FT-9000
Does it means if I could have 2 FT2000, it should work on the 2 ways ?

My controller is a FT450
The remoted station is a FT2000

Let's say I'm working with the remoted station (FT450), any chance on he FT450 will affect the FT2000 (frequency, filters, what ever you want)

Let's say now, I go to the remoted QTH and I change something on the FT2000 (such as a frequency), the FT450 do not have the changed frequency.

I was only wondering if change on 1 TX will affect the other on the 2 ways, or only change will occurs from the Controller TO the Remoted.

5
I wonder If I configured something bad : The remote stations display exactly What I selected on the Controller station.

But If someone change anything on the Remoted station, can't I have the feed back on the Controller ? Someone for exemple changed the Split on the "Remoted Station". For now I don't have the information on the Controller anything changed.

Is it only working One way ?

I'm using a FT2000 or a FT450, I have a Tiny RigExpert to manage things within CocoaPPT but can't understand how to connecte stuff on the RemoteRig :(

I may not use the RS232 for sure but how will work the PTT with the RemoteRig ?

Otherwise, is it possible or not possible to send Audio using AUX/MIC cable on the remote rig ? If so, where can I find the diagram to achieve this ?

Hi Cedric,

The Mac does recognize the USB port on the RRC. I have successfully made RTTY qso's using the K3/0 (RTTY/CW keying via USB) and using RUMlog and cocoamodem for decode on the mac. I do not have any other experience with other hardware only the K3.

Best of luck,

Thanks Lee for the Feedback. Which setup did you used on your Mac to send RTTY/CW with CocoaModem using RemoteRig please ? It would be helpful for me :)

No there is no way to send audio via USB to the remoterig box, you have to connect the audio from the PC to the mic input if you want to use PSK for example
What kind of cable connections do I have to follow to use tje AUX connector to get in with my Soundcard ?

CW and RTTY can be keyed digitaly via the USB port
I would enjoy using this USB port, but does exists a way to use CocoaPPT (from Mac) to control this USB Port (Well  recognized on the Mac)

Thanks a LOT by advance for your help to clarify this...

Any help really would be appreciate.

I'm getting lost with the manual starting page 90 to use my Soundcard to send audio to the RemoteRig :=(

Hi again,

I enjoying using the RemoteRig. Until now, I was used to send with a TinyRig some CW and RTTY on my FT2000.

Is there anyway to send audio from a TinyRig or DIRECTLY from the Audio-Output of my Soundcard using the USB cable or the may be the PAd connection for the CW & the TinyRig ?

Thanks for your advices,

Cédric

I've sent you (using SMF-in-mail feature) a mail with some pictures. I've tried both position for Jumper 5, and all others jumper are in place.

You can read status on the RRC status page to see if it react on PTT
Just to be sure ton understand well, it means, I remain on TX, I refresh the status page, and I should see if it reacted or not ?

Thanks agn

Hi there, trying to find a similar problem on the forum, but not yet found.

I've tryed to configure with the RRC-1258MkIIs Yaesu Twin for a FT450D as a RCC for a FT2000

It worked like a charm, to change frequency, switch to Split, and other few things, but I didn't success to use the TX on the Control-RCC.

I've tried to connect on the Control-RCC :
- The FT2000's microphone using the cable adaptator (the one provided in the original package)
- The FT450D's microphone without using any adaptator (same connector as the one on the Control-RCC)
- To use the Digital Voice Player included in the FT450 to force the TX to switch on TX

Until know, I've never been able to see the FT2000 nor the FT450D to switch on TX with any microphone.

I read the manual again, and the only thing I'm worried about is the Red LED remains OFF, despite the Yellow (Orange) One remain ON.

Did I made something wrong ? Do I need to configure something else ?

Thanks a lot for your help...

Cédric

I ordered few days ago the Yaesu Twin Concept. It will fit my needs for the beginning.

But I would like to improve few things, and was wondering if could it be possible :
- Can I use one of the RRC1258 from the Yaesu Twin to use some days the RRC-Micro PC-Client
- I need to turn on/off my SPE-Expert remotly. Can I do it while using the Yaesu Twin Concept to add the control from my computer to control COM1 ?

thanks for your help and sorry if questions already answered, search engine didn't help me.

Thanks a lot Mitch for your answer.

I believe I will give a try first with this configuration (FT450 & FT2000) and I hope it would work otherwise I will purchase a second FT2000.

Sorry for the duplicate topic, I've search before using Google, not the internal search engine.

Hi there,

I wish to get this awesome Remote Rig for specific usage. I read the manual, and I was wondering if it could be possible to get control of the FT-2000 from a FT450 ? Any chance it could work (not for dual reception of course). Any feedback on this ?

Thanks by advance

Cédric
