Yes.  I may have found the issue.  It looks like there is a part that has released form the PCB.  I can put it on the bench and reflow the solder and see if that does the trick  Will let you know.  I would tell you what part but without a Lupe I cannot read the markings.

I have tired everything that I can but the remote rig control unit will not connect to the base.  This is an existing configuration that just stopped working one day.  There have been not changes to the network, the port forwarding works but internally they units will not connect.  I plan to take the units offsite and see if they will connect remotely but I suspect that they will not.

I do see this error on the control Data Abort at 0x000541a8, called by 0x0004259c

So the question becomes how and where do I get service on the unit?

OK reloaded and now it finds the network.  It still will not turn on the radio.  I am leaning towards a bad cable from the head to the box.  The cable is quite pinched when it is in the back plate.  I'll make up a new cable and see what happens.

The other thing that is happening is that the Amber light on the mic jack is blinking continuously.

Here is the error

This is what I have been getting since it stopped working even before hitting the reset.

Pushed the reset on the back of the box.

Thanks for the reply.  Everything else works, Computers, printers, NAS,  just the Remote Rig is inop.     I have moved the location to another hub, directly connected it to the wireless router and even changed wireless within the house and it will not lock just blinks.    I have tried the hard reset and that did not fix the issue.

My box was working fine until a few weeks ago when the power light started blinking slow and it no longer seems to connect to either a wireless or wired connection.  It sees the wireless connections but it never locks.   Suggestion on what to try please.

I means the jumper is on both pins; 0 means the pins are not jumped (I hang the jumper off of one pin) and X =who cares.

I have had the issue a a number of hotels.   The Netgear will not pull an IP from this hotel's system to get on the logon page (it is plugged into the computer via the wired port) but will pull one at other hotels or public wifi such as Publix which is a few hundred feet from the hotel.  I was on with Blueprint RF technical support, the supplier to this hotel last evening, and they made a point that they system does not allow for an access point to connect. The minute I told him the model he made that statement and gave me a list of others that would not work.   I get the 169 IP Address when I try to connect to this hotel. I have to believe them since it does not at this hotel.  As an accommodation they did take my MAC address and IP and put the remote rig on without the need for a logon page.

I guess I do not understand the statement that it is not possible.  There are a number of products that have light browsers built into their hardware/firmware/software that allows for  this functionality.

I have one question,  has there been any thought into putting a light browser into the RemoteRig so that hotel logons are easier?   I have found that about 50% of the hotels block the portable access points such as the Netgear WNCE2001.   If there was a browser that would bring up the logon page it would alleviate the issues.

I wonder if there has been a discussion of embedding a lightweight browser in the remoterig box so that additional hardware would not be needed when hotel type authentication is needed?  I am not sure what this would take but it would be an excellent addition to the product.

Thanks, it took some digging but I found the original mic and all is well.  Now to test from a remote site.

I have checked the strapping on both units for proper and continuity and both passed.  Radio does turn on. passes audio but no PTT.   When I put headsets in the remote box and hit the PTT the audio is not muted.   The radio is set to use the RMT mic ( RM-59).  Will the remote rig work with this mic?

Also, to hard test PTT can I short the PTT line to Ground on the unit side (not the mic  side)  of the strapping?  If not what is the test to test PTT on each side of the box?
