Hardware, Cabling, Installations / Web Access RRC ip.
« on: 2017-03-21, 19:30:23 »
Access to the RRC unit via the web. Setup: Remote end using the RRC with the CW knob on it.
The problem: RRC not reachable via the web.
Setup: Small LAN using a 5 port Netgear switch. Only three devices on the LAN. A laptop, PC and the RRC. Using the Microbit Setup Manager app (USB off the laptop to the RRC) no problem as Setup tab working fine allowing entry of IP Address, Netmask, Gateway, DNS Server and Web Server Port into and out of the RRC. Net/info tab find returns IP address, Netmask, Gateway and DNS loaded in Setup. Find devices button within Net info/find returns:
RRC-1258 Control Version 2.86 S/N 9647 (192.167.169.1:80 NOT REACHABLE)
The rest of the system here.
K3/Mini head all cables to the RRC.
Netgear 5 port Switch with four ports occupied.
1. Local desktop PC.
2. Samsung laptop running Win8.1
3. RRC-1258 with the CW knob ie; Remote End Unit
4. iNet Service provider - Jefferson City, MO Mediacom a local cable outfit.
Used DOS CMD window to do the following.
ipconfig/all
arp -a
Both return pertinent ip adr data about service and the LAN devices.
To reiterate - Web browser access to the RRC when entering 192.168.169.1 (The noted and expected LAN ip of the RRC) in the browser window the response from the browser is This site can't be reached. A mystery for sure as the LAN is functional with the LAN Switch humming showing four ports blazing. Any ideas on why the RRC cannot be accessed via the Web?
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
