Time for an update. I'm in South Dakota at a private residence using their wireless, same setup as I was using in the motels. Lo and behold everything works as designed!!
I'm wondering if the motel routers might be configured not to pass certain protocols. Never thought to try Skype or Apple's Face Time though.

Only 95 degrees F here, not going to be running around outside. But it is a little cooler than it was yesterday in Miles City, MT--101 degrees there.

OK let's get detailed. On the radio side there is a web server that allows me to apply or remove power to the RRC and the radio. Both the RRC and the radio are not powered when I am not using them.
The status listing is from the radio RRC and since I can access it there is a route between my motel location and the radio RRC. If you looked at it carefully you would have seen that the DNS status ine indicates that there is an Error. "Failed to resolve remoterig.com."
So it appears that that there is an DNS addressing problem!
Since I can access the web server and the RRC my router and LAN are working correctly. The radio and RRC are at my home so I know exactly how they are configured.
I'm on the road again this morning and hopefully will be at another location for a couple of days and then will return home late on the 15th.
The system performed nicely nicely for several days starting on 02 July. After leaving that location and not making any configuration changes the system fail to operate.
I was hoping that you or someone else would quickly see something that I missed.

Another motel and the same problem--access tot he station did work for several days but I have had problems the last two nights.
Please see the attached file for the configuration information:
If I detach the Ethernet cable attached to the control RRC I can navigate the web and also ping my remote station location using its IP address.
Any help would be appreciated.

Configuration, RRC 1258 / CW using the USB port

I need some help please.
I have the RRC-1258 MKII units installed and running with a Kenwood TS-480.
The units have the latest software and firmware installed and work nicely using paddle CW however I need to implement software controlled CW and I am not having any success.
I’d prefer to use the USB/DTR connection to accomplish that.
Configuration thus far is as follows:
Control RRC:
Serial Settings:
Com1: Inactive
COM2 mode: Mode-4, Kenwood, Yaesu. Elecaft
COM2 baudrate: 9600
COM2 data bits: 8
COM2 stop bits: 1
COM2 parity: 0 - Off
COM2 terminator (hex): 00
Use USB Com Port as COM2: No
I/O settings:
IN0 mode: Keyer
Out0 mode: I/O
Out1 mode: I/O
Out2 Mode: I/O
USB RTS as PTT Disabled
USB DTR as CW Disabled
Radio RRC:
Serial Settings: Same as above
I/O settings:
OUT0 mode: Keyer
OUT0 on/off: OFF
OUT1 Mode: I/O
OUT1 on/off: OFF
OUT2 mode: I/O
OUT2 on/off: OFF
The manual makes the following statement:
Use USB Com Port as COM0 COM0 can be connected to the USB interface instead of the normal serial interface. When installing Microbit Setup manager a virtual Com port called “Microbit RRC Virtual Comport (COMX)” is installed. That’s the one you should connect to when using HRD or other softwares.
Yes or No (default = No).
How do I find the number of this virtual Com Port since I am guessing that that is an import part of the configuration?
In all honesty I really like the hardware but I do have difficulty with the manual. I really wish someone would put together a “cookbook” with configuration and cabling information for basic configurations new users might want to implement.
I would appreciate any help offered to solve my problem and Happy Holidays to all of you in the forum.
