Webswitch via Android
« on: 2011-10-18, 18:16:49 »
Hi Jan,
tried it on samsung 7" tablet with still froyo 2.2 on it
but after I setup in settings http://...-...-...-...:9999/
it hangs and get an error screen, or it is caused by older froyo version
or maybe its because the added port on the tcpip ad

What does the error screen say?
Have you tested with removing the last '/' after '9999'?

The app should work with android 2.1-update and upwards, but as this is out first Andriod attempt its interesting to get response that may help making next version better.

No news at this time  :-[
I have been quite busy with other projects, but will dive into it later this week or beginning of next.
Will test with the Samsung Galaxy emulator then and see what it can give.

I will discuss the rotator tab with the others here.

Hi Roland,

I'm running the app on HTC Desire with Android 2.2.

Reading status for temp and relays work except for swedish characters
in the name labels.

When I try to change on/off I get the same error message as above:
"Processen microbit.webswitch.r1 för programmet Webswitch 1216-H stoppades oväntat. Försök igen."

By the way - is it possible to change the relays without a username/password?

Best regards
Ronny

It working good as long you not try to change any relay if you have set up it with user and pw.
Try and take away user and pw and you will see
If you dont try and change relays the app works with user and pw, you can see but dont change anything

Not at the moment. I'm working with the last bits of a new version which will have many fixes and some new features. This new version will also have more information on what goes wrong when it does. Hopefully this one will work better or at least give some hint on the reason why it works on some androids and not on others, even if the android version is the same. In fact I have tested with 2.3.3 Galaxy Tab, but on an emulator and it works fine there. But an emulator is not the whole truth, just a simulation. The new version is ready but needs some testing before relase. That will proably take a couple of days. So next week we will have that one out if nothing bad happens during the tests.
