Configuration for IC-7100?
« on: 2013-07-19, 01:43:26 »
I see that you can just use a CAT6 cable from the head to the RRC, but could you tell us what jumpers should be installed in the RRC? Is it the same as the IC-706?

Thanks

Oh, didn't know there was a newer user manual than the one I had. Thanks.

Another IC7100/RRC combo in use.
Great combination!

Up and running in minutes, following the manual.

Tnx for adding this rig.

Hi, a very small bug to report:

If I make a connection to the server RRC with the headphones inserted in the control head, the audio sometimes spontaneously switches back to speaker.

You than have to re-insert the headphones.
It seems senseing of the headphone is not always sent to the radio, it thinks the headphone is not there.

As with all nice & interesting little bugs; this happens only randomly ;-)

Hi,
Another very happy Icom-7100/RRC user, great radio with the RRC units and also using HRD to control the CIV. CW is great as well.
The "feel" of the radio control head is as good as having the rig on the desk, tuning is very nice, no dial backlash due to latency evident at all.

I had to adjust the Radio Unit Codec Out Gain down to 220 instead of leaving it at 255. This was done to greatly reduce the amount of noise coming from the RRC-1258, some pulsing noise every 8 seconds.

I then had to adjust up the Codec inp gain on the control unit up to 60. The mic that comes with the IC-7100, the HM-198 seems to have a low output so the Codec inp preamp was also switched on.

I also use the audio quality 2 on both ends and the remote audio is now great, no noises from the RRc-1258.

Thanks to Mike and ICOM for a great combo.
