Control RRCs self rebooting / low uptime.

I have a strange problem which Im trying to tackle & understand.

Lately my two control RRCs have started to reboot every few hours or so.
I suspect a problem in the (old) router.

They seem to loose Wifi connection every once in a while.
But why do they reboot? Shouldn't they simply reconnect?
It takes quite some time before the connection is re-established.

A.f.a.i.c.s there's no ping watchdog in the Control RRC forcing a reboot.
Their uptime count is never more than a few hours, while my Radio RRC shows weeks or months..

Both are on v2.85

What does "Last WD Reset" on the "Info" page show?

Last WD Reset now says 10.
I've seen other values too.

What does this mean?

10 means that the RRC was restarted from the web interface. In general the different numbers indicate restarts due to the program doing a "controlled restart". In your case it would be of interest to see which number there is after a restart has happened(but before a web interface restart etc are done)

The funny thing is, if I count back from the uptime:
I was not at home when the RRC was restarted from the web interface!
Am I being hacked? ;-)

I'll monitor the WD Reset values for a while.

No. I'll do that and change the web interface port as well.
See what happens.

My router shows some funny intercepts from "China Telecom".

To make things a bit more complete one has to know that if the RRC restarts in an "uncontrolled way", the Last WD reset value will not be updated due to the nature of the restart, i.e the program ran into something which it was not able to handle. So seeing 10 as reset reason might refer to a controlled restart which happened before an uncontrolled.

I have two client RRC's with control head for my IC7100 (one fixed, one portable)
Both of them show the same random reboots every few hours, while they used to be rock-solid.
My Radio RRC never reboots.

I'll do some further testing.

Replaced modem/router.
RRCs now stay on.

I'm still curious: how can a router with problems force the RRCs into reboot?
Simple wifi drop outs do not reboot the units.

Anyway, they have been running steady again since replacement.

An RRC, like every network enabled device, has its limitations. For example if a router starts sending out "junk" it might become to much for the RRC to handle and so its resources(like memory) gets exhausted, which often causes a reboot.
