IC-7100 CI-V cable
« on: 2015-05-30, 02:42:21 »
I have rrc-1258mk2 set and IC-7100 runs well.

Now I want to add CI-V cable for IC-7100, I make a TTL-CIV cable, just like the USER MANUAL of ICOM CI-V section.

1) in IC-7100 power off status, plug this CI-V cable to rrc-radio TTL port and IC-7100 remote port, then can't power on the IC-7100 from remote panel, but I check the status carefully, I found the IC-7100 was ON, just the IC-7100 screen was OFF, because the orange LED of AUX/MIC was on, and all status from RRC-control and RRC-radio web page were OK!

2) in IC-7100 power on status, plug CI-V cable, the IC-7100 still running, screen still on, but any operation from panel was not respond.

Anybody use IC-7100 with CI-V cable, any special setting? Thanks.

It,s not possible to use ttl jack on a ic-7100 setup as Com0 is already occupied by panel to radio communication. You must use com2 with a CI-V interface like Icom CT-17 , a pirate converter powered by the serial port is not working

OK, Mike, that's mean:

PC -> RRC-control COM2 -> network -> RRC-radio -> COM2 -> 232/TTL converter -> IC-7100 remote port

I will try, thanks!
