Which IP Address?
« on: 2010-11-08, 14:14:12 »
I have cable internet provided through Suddenlink via a Motorola modem.  The Motorola modem is connected with a Cat-5 cable to a Cisco wireless router.  The Cisco wireless router is connected via a Cat-5 cable to a wireless bridge to provide internet to a shop location about 300 feet behind the house where the Remoterig system will be.  When I connect my laptop to each device, ipconfig shows a different IP address.  In other words, connecting my laptop directly to the Motorola modem shows IP address "A", connecting my laptop directly to the Cisco wireless router shows IP address "B", and connecting my laptop at the end of the link to the bridge (where the Remoterig box will be connected) shows IP address "C".  Which IP address do I register with DynDNS?

Hi

You do not have to worry about that. Ít's done automatically if you enter the DynDNS setting in the RRC.
eg. it's the outside IP-adress which the Cisco router gets from the ISP if the Motorola is just a Modem.
