Help with Yaesu FT-857 and RCC-1258 MkII units
« on: 2016-11-01, 14:20:26 »
Hello to all:
Thanks for reading this message.
I have two units RCC-1258 MkII (IMPORTANT: it is not the unit model RCC-1258 MkIIs) and as indicated website in
http://www.remoterig.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/YAESU-FT-857-10a-10b.pdf is possible works with a Yaesu FT-857 making cables Y10a and Y10b but in this pages only appears cables Y10b. I guess that will be a little mistake, all right?

On the other hand, in website says that “Modify RRC-1258MkII of versions 3,4,5,6 for the FT-857” but my unit are RCC-1258 MkII with version 7 that you can see in the image attached. It is possible to work with this???

Finally I built the wires and I'm testing in local mode but the Yaesu FT-857 doesn´t start although the power supply is independent of the both units. Only lights a yellow light in the AUX connector when I try.

Please, I need your help.
Best Regards,
Jesus

If you have a version 7 you should use the information about settings and cables , strapping etc from the manual. Not the info for old models on the mods page.

Ok but my units are model RCC-1258 MkII without S. This difference is not important?

There is no v7 which is not s, look at the label on the bottom of the unit. On the front of the box all are marked RRC-1258MkII

Hello again.
I have already made the settings on the control unit and radio unit as you can see in the attached pictures, but it does not work.

In local mode when I try to start the Yaesu FT-857 only the yellow LED lights a moment in the AUX connector of both units and I heard noises like relays. Any suggestions?

Hi

have you turned the cables correct, the yellow connector should be connected to the RRC in both ends

also try with a separate powersupply for the radio-RRC

email me the exported settings (html) files

Hello,
I built the cables according the pages 158 and 159 of the following link:

http://www.remoterig.com/downloads/RemoteRig_RRC1258-MkII_Users_manual.pdf

I have a powersupply only for the body the Yaesu FT-857 and the RRC-1258MKII control unit and RRC-1258MKII radio unit have their own power supplies.

Besides, I sent you the exported settings (html) files at your email from qrz.com

Best regards,
