Hi Willi:

I can see the link you posted.

I've just purchased an 600 pulses/rotation encoder from China. I'm going to make my first test....

I have Red (Vcc), Black (GND), White (A)and Green (B). Is that correct? Could I use your schematic?

Hi Juan Carlos,

Some pictures for wiring the 100 pps decoder:
A goes to internal decoder (red)
B goes to internal decoder (green)
OV goes to GND (yellow)
VCC goes to + 5V (orange)
A and B you can change
The colors belongs to the wire in the RC-2000 case not at decoder.

Very nice performed Willi. No resistors needed?

Many thanks for the info

I'll purchase an encoder like yours

Hi Juan Carlos,

No resistor necessary.

Btw. look at this:

How many pulses x rotation is your encoder.

First test with my 600 pulses x rotation encoder I think is too much. If you turn too fast, RRC goes crazy trying to count so many pulses....

One turn (360 degrees) = 100 pps. The 500 pps by my former encoder (HEDGE) was too much. That was the reason I changed to 100 pps. Pushing the small encoder you also can change the speed of the external encoder.

Waiting for a 100ppr encoder, today I've modified my RC-2000

I have a problem. I've just put my new 100 pulses encoder without resistors, and sometimes work, but sometimes doesn't work. Screen flashes following the pulses, but frequency doesn't change. Disconecting and conecting again the external encoder, RC-200 restarts....

Could be a power supply problem?

Any ideas?

Now with a 100 Ohms resistor in the VCC line is working fine.

Maybe my encoder is demanding too much power.
