IC 706 MK II Power Up ?
« on: 2012-05-28, 19:05:23 »
Hi All

My first post so hello all,

I recently bought a second hand RRC 1258 MK ii to use with my IC 706 MK ii

Not having much success and wonder if anyone can help.

Ive setup both radio and control RRC's as per the manual, ive made the cable and tested it and it works ok.

Ive connected both RRC's to my network and can ping them and open the web browser no problem

When i connect the control head for the IC 706 MKii and press the power button i can hear the relay in the Radio click, then drop put again, the control head does not power up.

Ive checked the jumpers and all is correct although i did find that some of them broke easily.

Ive tried different power supplies at the control end and this has not worked.

Can anyone suggest something else i may have over looked or a method of testing ive not tried?

Regards

Hi

If the relay clicks the power on signal comes to the radio, but the data channel from the Radio-RRC to the radio do not. If no keep alive messages comes to the radio it will switch of after 100 ms, I gues it's what happens. Check the baudrate settings and the red straps.

Hi Mike
Thanks for your reply, i check again the jumper and found another broken wire, this RRC was second hand, previously i found 2 broken wires.

Now its working ok,

HAs anyone had experience with internet sharing wifi on windows 7 ?
