FT-950 TWIN problem
« on: 2017-07-24, 09:13:30 »
Hello,
I have the RRC-1258MKII. When I use 1xFT950 mode 4 everything works OK.
When I use 2xFT-950 mode 10 twin, there will be no communication.Software 2.91
Please ask for advice on how to set up the configuration to work with my twin FT950. Thank you

Draho,

If you carefully follow the directions on the manual, it should work just fine.

In my experience, the mistake most make is that they forget to use a null-modem serial
cable on the control side. Pins 2 and 3  must be crossed for it to work. Look at the
diagram in the manual for details.

Hello Mitch.
Thank you for replying. I checked the cable and the terminals 2-3 are crossed. RTS 0. I do not know what to set in serial setting.

Hi Draho,

So the control serial cable is crossed and the radio serial cable is straight?

Then check your setting using the RemoteRig manual. If you carefully follow the
directions, it should work. Make sure that the CAT setting in both rigs match the
baud rate on COM2.

Draho,

If you checked the cabling and baud rates in the rigs, then there is no reason it won't work. Mike is on vacation
and can't check it, and I am also back in Germany for the summer with my stuff in Florida.

I can take a look at your RRC settings if you want. I can be reached directly at dj0qn (at) darc.de and would
need both RRCs settings as HTML files (export --> HTML). That would be best just after a connect attempt.

I am also assuming that the sytem previously worked in a single 950 configuration, which would mean that the
network settings are correct and don't need to be checked.
