Choppy Audio from RR

Hello All

Hope someone can please give me a little advice,  over the last week or two I have noticed choppy audio coming from my remoterig, the best way to describe it is on a clear frequency its like the noise level is breaking in and out of the squelch even though the squelch is turned off.   When I talk to people it makes there audio choppy too.   Is this a setting I need to adjust, the connection is good on both units and the internet connection is 50/15meg on one side and 100/10 on the other.   Tried reboots on both ends but still no change.

You don't find the source to a problem like this in the Remoterig boxes, it's typical internet problems.

If it's short dropouts you can compensate for them by increasing the jitter buffer settings. Look in the manual how they are working.

Hi again, thanks for the message, I have been told I might have a high latency,  could someone please take a look at this for me and see what they think, would this be the problem, adjusted the jitter but couldn't see it make much of a difference.   Thank you

Sorry to be a bother but is there anyone that might be able to help me with my issue, just spent the last three hours tearing my hair out trying to find some sort of solution but the audio just breaks up and its so hard to hear people, my audio is fine but rx is really hard work, such a shame as this has worked flawlessy for the last five months :(

Hi Stu,

Since your connection used to be fine, first I would look if anything has changed on either end of your Remoterig network.

Did you start using any new devices? Or a member of the family?
Try shut down or disconnect all other devices using your network, including tablets, smart phones, game stations, etc. Any of these devices can be doing network-heavy things you're not aware of (downloading updates,new firmware etc)

I have noticed that streaming services within your network (gaming, video) can also cause drop outs to the RRC connection.

If you are running Remoterig over Wifi, try changing the Wifi channel. Other users of the 2,4GHz band (intercoms, cameras) can cause packet loss to the Wifi network. Many APs on the same channel can also mean trouble.

Stu, we had the same problem at our remote site.  Audio worked great for several months, then all of a sudden it became very choppy.   After examining the issue, our conclusion was that the Internet provider was the problem.  We complained several times, and, although the Internet provider never said it was their problem, the problem went away and hasn't returned.  We still figure it was the Internet provider, as we did nothing at the station that stopped the problem.
