Configuartion for Yaesu FT8900/8800
« on: 2013-04-15, 04:13:33 »
Hi all, new to the remote rig although I have owned a pair for over a year. We plan to use a TS480 at a mountain top remote, quiet site and do the install this summer.

But before doing that and as a possible second setup, we would like to install a Yaesu FT8900 on another mountain top where a VHF/UHF remote would work great here in Montana. When looking at the remote rig website, it mentions that the yaesu is now compatible with the 1258MKII, although I suspect I will need a couple of firmware upgrades since I bought the pair. However, unlike the TS480 info I found that shows jumper wire configuration for it, I cannot find the same info for a FT8900. Is it on the site somewhere or is it something even simpler that I am missing. Would like to get comfortable with this setup first before doing the HF rig later.

Any help on this setup would be appreciated.

Thanks Mike, I knew it had to be somewhere simple! Also has all the info we need for the TS480.
