Does the RRC-1258MkII ( not "S" ) also works for TS-590 twin setup ?
Thanks

Hi Mike

Can you please highlight this TS-590 twin statment.. Is it correct that RRC will support 2x TS-590 as twins?

As far i remember there was post on this and that last one i do remember is that Microbit was looking for someone to give them two 590 to "play" with the protocol

Thanks

Ziv

Hello to all
I tried to make a ts590 twin setup with a friend of mine.
The first notice was when I powered on the control side
ts590, the back  light on display got on and off  until the connection got stable.
Mic works fine , I tried to connect cw key on ts590 , I got only ptt ,
and a another notice was that I cant turn off the remote radio
Any suggestions ?

Hi,

Using TS-590 Twin since 2 weeks now. Have the same flashing. May be it is normal so? What about flashing Twin Yaesu/K3?
I can turn on and switch off the Radios without any problems. Mike and key are working fine (of course through both RRC`s). Managed the cables as recommended.

The Expert PA ist following automatically the Radio, but only together with HRD-CAD (Mode 7 RRC Control and RRC Radio). ARCP-590 instead HRD is working unstable and TX almost hangs up.

Anyone using Twin TS-590 having ideas

Hi
The display flashes during the transfer of the settings. There are hundreds of settings which are copied from Remote radio to Control radio, and during that time the radio cannot be used. I have no explanation to why you cannot switch off the radio.

It's difficult with CAT, as it is the same commands which flows between the Control Radio and the Remote Radio, as the CAT commands used by PC-programs, PA:s etc. And the PC programs etc. are probably written in the way that they expect correct answers to their request but in this setup there can be another answer comming in first on the way to the control radio or v.v.

In the K3-twin setup this is no problem as Elecraft wrote a new protocol for the communication between the Control and Remote radio which is totally different from the CAT protocol, Then it works as the PC-programs etc. do not recognize those commands at all.

To make the TS-590 twin solution perfect Kenwood must do some development otherwise it will never work as good as for K3-twin. So if anyone have connections inside Kenwood, try to convince them to do it.

Thanks to all for the answers.
So the cw is made from RRC and not from ts-590 paddle plug direct
I'll try to test them again perhaps with better internet speed.
