problems with the set up
« on: 2019-04-02, 17:13:33 »
hi.

trying to set up the units to work with a TS-480.

I have followed the step by step instruction, keeping everything wired to the local router.

I am able to reach both devices with the web interface, configure them and save. Everything ok, included the registration with the remoterig DDNS server.

But then it just do not work, the radio do not switch on.

One strange thing happens:

even though I can reach it with the web interface, the radio device cannot be found by ping. It always goes to timeout.

The control device respond to ping.

I have verified with the internet provider and udp port are unfiltered.

I have also tried to set up the wifi -I have it on the control side only- and use the 4G network on this side, but no success.

Any clue for the troubleshooting?

Thanks in advance for any help
Ferdinando

The most common thing beginners forget is to change the SIP contact setting in the Control-RRC when they change the Radio-RRC IP-address. When having both on the same LAN you should enter the IP-address of the Radio-RRC there.

If you don't make it email me exported settings(html) files

Ferdinando,

I have a networking checklist that I can send you if you want that walks you through the setup process.
If you want it, drop me a short mail to dj0qn (at) darc.de and I will send it to you.

thanks for the hint.

I have reset both units and started all over again.

Now everything seems to work.... except the CW.

The remoterig keyer works fine, I hear the monitor on the Control... but the radio is not switching to TX.

The radio itself works fine, if I connect the front panel to it directly it switches to TX without any problem. So it must be something with the remoterig.

problem solved... Faulty cable between remoterig and key input of the radio
