WiFi board connection issue?

Symptom:
Remote rig/K3/0 WiFi combination not connecting to the internet

Observations:
The Microbit utility does detect the SSID from my Verizon JetPack
JetPack connects to all other devices … just not the K3/0 & RRC
Confirmed I have the correct password for accessing the JetPack
JetPack display does not show a connection to the RRC (but does for all other devices)
Red LED on WiFi module is on solid
Green LED on RRC blinks for about 20 seconds and then solid

This combination with the JetPack has work fine for years
Problem began upon arrival in France a few weeks ago. Radio, etc was transported in airplane cabin inside a clam shell equipment carrier. Not aware of any rough handling.
I have removed and reseated the WiFi card a few times.
Thorough internal inspection revealed nothing unplugged or loose.
I can ping my remote connection and the test packets are satisfactory returned.

Any ideas are welcome

Nothing can be done in the RRC end. Have you tested with an other router ?
I guess it's a good idea to setup the router with separated 2.4/5GHz WLANs also, not the modern way with combined 2.4/5GHz WLAN.  The RRC Wifi is 2.4 GHz only.

Good morning Mike and thanks for the quick response.

As you suggested, I reviewed the JetPack (MiFI 8800L) WiFi frequency settings. It was enabled for both 2.4 & 5 ghz. I disabled the 5ghz and confirmed that other WiFi devices could successfully connect to the JetPack at 2.4 ghz. I tried 4 devices and all 4 connected. I could not connect to the RRC.

When the JetPack connects normally, a device name or IP address displays on the JetPack display. This occurred on the 4 devices tested at 2.4 ghz, but nothing appears when trying to connect to the RRC. Recall that with the Microbit utility connected to the RRC via USB, I can see the SSID’s of all available WiFi routers …. including the JetPack.

There is an ADSL based connection available in our house but I can’t get to the port settings etc. I’ve tried connecting to the router via WiFi and Ethernet and it won’t connect … but I suspect it’s a network port setting issue. At home I cannot connect over the COX cable network as they restrict some of the ports used by the RRC.

Not sure what to try … again, any ideas are welcomed Mike

to test the wificard you dont need to make any port settings. Just check if the RRC can connect to the router and that you can browse it from a PC or Phone connected to the same LAN. If it's not working, the Wifi card is broken and there is nothing you can do. There is no cards available as the Wifi chip became obsolet years ago.

Hi Mike,

I moved a step closer to resolving the mystery, but not quite at the finish line. For some reason, the RCC subnet number was wrong and after changing 192.168.0.227 to 192.168.1.227, the WiFi connected properly and I can read the configuration files. So I believe I’ve confirmed that the WiFi card is functioning properly.

However, I still cannot connect to the station. I can successfully ping the site IP address. The green LED is solid. Ideas please.

Hi

Ita can be many reasons for that but it has not anything to do with Wifi. Without more info it's impossible to say more. Probably some setting is wrong in either RRC or in the Radio QTH router

All resolved. Once I determined that the WiFi card was okay (thanks Mike) it was obvious the issue was a setting in the configuration. I don’t know how it happened, but the static ip address in the configuration file was incorrect. Inserting the correct IP address fixed the problem.
