Remote Rig on LAN
« on: 2012-01-18, 16:56:02 »
We need to install a radio in our county emergency operations center.  Our room is in the center of the building about 100 feet away from the antenna coax entrance.  We are prohibited from running coax to our radio room.  The building has a local area network so we are looking at the remote rig as a solution to our problem.  My only question is 'does the Romote Rig work on a LAN as well as over the Internet?'

Absolutely! Then you have virtually zero latency and don't need to worry about forwarding ports.
Just use the internal IP addresses.
