Easy rotator control question???
« on: 2012-03-28, 18:01:39 »
Hi everyone,
I have a quick question - I'm about the install Easyrotator control in a G450 rotator. Can someone confirm what cable I need from the controler to the remote end of the Remote rig? Is it a standard 9 pin D cable or do I need a null-modem lead?

At the control end in the shack I'm using a usb serial lead - do I need to make allowances for this?

Do I need to change the "use usb as com port" in the serial settings menu?

Thanks

Tony

Tony,
This might not be a complete answer.
On my installation I used the 9 pin connector on the lead supplied by Easy Rotor with the kit and the COM1 connection on the radio RRC1258. I had to reverse the EasyRotor recommended connections to pins 2 & 3 to get the RS232 properly connected. However I used a standard RS232 male-female at the control RRC1258 end to connect to a PC.
