rrc-1258 mkii NIC port radio

Well, went to use my 706 remoterig, and could not turn the radio on.
Could not connect to the radio side via IP, checked the black box to find that the link light is blinking on the radio box.
tried a new cable, different port no joy.
I can connect via USB and see the setting, which haven't changed.

Anyone seen the NIC go in their radio side ?
any ideas ? short of buying a new one ?

Hi

The Ethernet PHY is the first to take a hit from a lightning storm comming through the phone line, so we get a few per year which are hit. Often you can see the plastic housing on the IC is broken or at least it's getting very hot if it's damaged. If you contact us by email you will get a fair price on a replacement PCB
