Trying to setup windows 8 pro. the virtual drivers do not seem to create com ports. I get 4 unknown devices instead of com ports 16, 17 , 18 etc

Is there any info on windows 8?

UPDATE ... Windows 8 will not let the virtual drivers be installed via the normal exe file...  seems to be a permission isuue ... third party INF file does not contain a digital signature

removed the application

Set compatability mode to windows 7 ran as administrator ..

No Joy ... the process simmply stops when the INF install begins.

I found this link:
http://laslow.net/2012/03/14/disable-driver-signature-enforcement-in-windows-8/

followed it, then went to control panel, device manager and updated the RRC drivers. from the programfiles folders ...

they seem to work now

The procedure described here works FB for Windows 8.  The same thing must be done on Windows 8.1 Preview; however the procedure is a bit different.  Go to    http://www.howtogeek.com/167723/how-to-disable-driver-signature-verification-on-64-bit-windows-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers/       for the steps to disable driver signature verification.

If this thread is about the COM port drivers which are installed by the Setup Manager installation program then there will be a new version released with signed INF files which Win 8 should accept. It will most likely be released sometimes in August.
Always include type of hard/software and version when asking for support.

Hi Jim,

No date yet, except that most likely in August. Would you like a beta version for testing?

Hi Jan,

Yes, got it this time, and did the install.  I sent you a private email on this before posting to this forum.  Thanks for allowing me to be a beta tester for this new install version.
